Core Responsibilities of the District Activities Chair
Reporting to the District Committee Chair, the Activities Committee Chair is the hands-on event coordinator tasked with bringing the annual calendar to life.

District Event Execution: Recruit and manage volunteer committees to plan and run massive multi-unit events, including District Camporees, Cuborees, SHOWANDO, and Pinewood Derbies.

Civic Service & Community Impact: Coordinate large-scale community service projects (such as the annual "Scouting for Food" drive) to fulfill the Scout obligation to help others.

Safety & Compliance Enforcement: Ensure every district event operates strictly within the safety frameworks of the Scouting America Guide to Safe Scouting. Verify that event medical forms, shooting sports directors, and specialized supervisors meet national requirements.

Resource Development: Oversee local program materials—such as producing local "Where-to-Go Camping" pamphlets, scheduling district activitiess, or planning historical milestone celebrations.
